Shell Chair Analysis
This project involved a finite element analysis (FEA) of a shell chair structure.
The objective was to evaluate the chair’s performance under a static load corresponding to a person with a body mass of 120 kg and to assess both the static and fatigue strength of the design. The chair was modeled using AW 7075 T62 aluminum alloy with a thickness of 3 mm . The analysis included identifying critical stress hotspots, calculating the degree of utilization for static loading, and estimating fatigue life for 2×10⁶ load cycles. Engineering assumptions were documented, and the results were compiled into a structured technical report supported by ANSYS simulations.
